Composite Hostid=empty? - license file issue
Hi community,
one of my daemons is reporting an unusual error with a new license file. It seems that the composite hostid cannot be resolved.
...
SERVER line says COMPOSITE=XXXXXXXXXXXX, hostid is COMPOSITE=
Invalid hostid on SERVER line
Disabling 1 license from feature ...
The tool provided by the manufacturer can extract the composite hostid of the system without any problems.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?
Thanks, have a nice day!

Hi @heli543 ,
This error generally occurs when the composite host id specified in the license file does not match the host id returned by the software publisher provided utility that determines
the publisher’s composite hostid. Kindly check both are exactly similar .

Thanks for the fast reply! Strangely enough the composite host id in the license file does match the composite host id returned by the software publisher provided utlity.
Could there be a client-side problem here or is it more likely that the license has not been generated correctly by the software publisher?

Hi @heli543 ,
Make sure the VD is built with composite hostid otherwise it won't recognize it .
You can cross verify if all the steps in this article have been taken care of https://community.flexera.com/t5/FlexNet-Publisher-Knowledge-Base/Steps-to-configure-a-combined-Vendor-Defined-HostID-and/ta-p/106651
If the issue still persists then kindly raise a case with us with all the required details.
Hope this helps !!
