Flexnet License Server Manager error trying to log in. connection to the license server REST endpoint, HTTPS use is required

I've installed flsm.war into tomcat 8.5.50

tried with http and https://host:8443/flsm/

When I attempt to log in as admin I get this error:

Authorization request for admin denied; for connection to the license server REST endpoint

I have a shared self signed cert that I am using for FlexNet Embedded and Tomcat.

Licensing works fine and tomcat works fine.

Found my answer

You need to set the login to use HTTPS

• Select Settings link
• Set Connect using HTTPS to Yes
• Save
• Select the Devices link to return to the login page
