This article documents the reason that the Electronic Update does not use the settings in core.proxy.server.properties when connecting to the update servers
Synopsis
The electronic update for FlexNet Code Insight 6.11.1 and above no longer uses the settings in core.proxy.server.properties when connecting to the update servers. The Electronic Update is conducted using SFTP and the core.proxy.server.properties file only routes HTTP traffic.
Discussion
Prior to version 6.11.1, FlexNet Code Insight would read and apply the settings in the core.proxy.server.properties file when performing the electronic update. The proxy check was removed from the update service as a direct response to a number of customer complaints. The work for this was undertaken under reference SCA-336.
Workaround
Customers that wish to use their proxy server to traffic their electronic update will need to configure connections over SFTP to pass through their proxy server. Alternatively customers can perform a manual update.
