Copy/Paste License Text from Github into FNCI 2019.R1 places Line 1 at the bottom of the text fields "As Found License Text" and “Notices Text”.
My Setup:
FNCI 2019.R1 running on CentOS 7.6 and MySQL 5.7.
Browsers: Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. I tried them on CentOS and Windows with same result.
I'm trying to find out if anyone had encountered this issue with FNCI 2019.R1 running the core/scan/db server on CentOS.
When I copy/past license information from Github "https://github.com/axios/axios/blob/master/LICENSE"
(I tried other licenses MIT, BSD with the same result)
Into the "As Found License Text" or “Notices Text” fields, the first line at the top of the license is placed at the bottom of the text filed.
See the attached image files:
- GitHub_Original_MIT_License.JPG
- After_Paste_FNCI2019.R1_Reveresed_Line_One.JPG).
If I download the library zip file, open the LICENSE file in WordPad and copy paste it into the above fields, it reproduces the license correctly.
It seems to me this is something on how the LICENSE files are stored in GitHub and how FNCI21019.R1 is “translating” the fields from the license text in CentOS.
Thank you,
LP

Hello,
This is being addressed in the upcoming release. The Notices Text field in the latest release is going to be a rich text field (you can format the text) which solves this issue.
Thanks.

I have verified the latest FNCI 2019.R2 release, and the issue is NOT fixed.
You can replicate the issue by going to "https://github.com/chalk/chalk/blob/master/license" and copy/paste the license into the 2019.R2 "Notices" Field.
Please make sure you are testing this on a system running the core/scan/db on a CentOS 7.x OS.
This is my setup:
FlexNet Code Insight 2019 R2 (Build 46) running on CentOS Linux release 7.5.1804 (Core/Scan/DB Server)
MySQL Community Server running on CentOS Linux release 7.5.1804

Hello @lpopescu,
Unfortunately, I couldn't reproduce the issue. Here is what I tried
Copy the license text from https://github.com/chalk/chalk/blob/master/license
Pasted the contents into the Notices Text field in both Project Inventory and Analysis Workbench
In Project Inventory
In Analysis Workbench
The server is setup on Cent OS 7 and MySQL 5.7.
Do you mind raising a support case, so that we can engage with you and try to understand the problem in depth.
Regards,
Venkat Ram
