Upcoming Change: IT Visibility – Query API Delta Resume Token Invalidation (Action Required on July 20, 2026)

As part of an upcoming platform update, existing IT Visibility Queries API (https://developer.flexera.com/docs/api/vis/v2#/Query) delta resume tokens will be invalidated on July 20, 2026.  

What does this mean? 

On or after July 20, 2026, any delta query that uses an existing resume token will fail. This is a one-time change required to ensure data accuracy going forward. 

What action is required? 

If you consume delta data via the Queries API, please take the following action: 

• Remove the resume token from your current request 
• Run a new query/fresh snapshot on or after July 20, 2026 to generate a new resume token 
• Use the newly generated resume token in subsequent requests to continue using delta queries.   

Additional details 

• Snapshot queries are not impacted 
• No changes are required to the Queries API endpoints or request format 
• This change applies only to delta consumers 

We recommend planning this snapshot run into your workflows ahead of time to avoid any disruption.

Upcoming Change: IT Visibility – Data Export Retention Policy Update 

We’re updating the retention period for ZIP data exports available on the IT Visibility > Data Exports page. 

Starting in June 2026, all data exports will be retained for 30 days from the “Requested” date, after which they will be automatically and permanently deleted. 

 Rollout schedule by region 

• APAC: 1 June 2026 
• EU: 4 June 2026 
• NAM: 9 June 2026 

What this means for you 

• Any export requested on or after your region’s effective date will be available for download for 30 days. 
• Any existing exports that are already older than 30 days at the time of rollout will be permanently removed on the rollout date. 

What’s new 

To help you track this more easily, a new “Days Until Deletion” column will be added to the Data Exports page. This will show how many days remain before each export is deleted. 

Please ensure you download and securely store any exports you need before the 30‑day retention period expires. Once deleted, exports cannot be recovered.

IT Visibility – Evidence & Devices Enhancements

We’re excited to share a set of enhancements to the IT Visibility Devices experience, designed to give you greater transparency into the evidence behind your inventory and software data.

These updates make it easier to understand how device and software information is discovered by surfacing additional evidence types directly within the UI.

With these enhancements, you can:

• Gain clearer insight into device-level hardware and software evidence
• Better understand how inventory and software data is derived
• Improve confidence in IT Visibility data through increased transparency

What’s New

1.Discovered Hardware Evidence per Device

You can now view Discovered Hardware Evidence directly on each device.

• See the hardware evidence associated with a specific device in one place
• Better understand how device hardware details are discovered and represented

2.Expanded Software Evidence on the Devices Page

Previously, the Devices page showed only Installer Evidence for software. We’ve now expanded this view to provide a more complete picture.

New evidence tabs available per device:

• Software Evidence - File : Displays file evidence details for the selected device, enabling you to view and analyze file information associated with the device.
• Software Evidence - OS : Displays operating system evidence details for the selected device, providing insights into the operating systems installed on the device.

• Get a more comprehensive view of how software presence is detected on devices

Inventory Normalization Insights Report – Expanded Evidence Coverage

What’s New

The Inventory Normalization Insights (Sankey) report has been enhanced to provide a more complete and actionable view of how software titles are normalized. In addition to Installer Evidence, the report now includes:

• OS Evidence
• File Evidence

The report also introduces enhanced interactive navigation, enabling users to seamlessly drill into underlying software evidence for deeper investigation.

Why This Matters

Many customer environments rely heavily on OS-level discovery and file-based evidence to identify software. Previously, the Sankey report visualized only installer-driven normalization flows, which could result in:

• Normalized titles appearing without visible installer evidence
• Limited insight into how certain software was identified
• Reduced confidence in normalization outcomes

• The Sankey visualization now displays three distinct evidence flows:
  • Installer Evidence
  • OS Evidence

IT Visibility: New Report Launch - Cloud Inventory Overview in TI reporting - December 18th(Live now!)

We are excited to announce the release of Cloud Inventory Overview report in TI Platform. Gain a unified, high-level view of your cloud ecosystem with insights across compute, storage, databases, and containerized assets. This Report consolidates asset information from cloud providers such as AWS and Azure into a consistent structure, enabling teams to quickly understand what resources exist, where they are deployed, who owns them, and how they are configured.

Important Update: IT Visibility – Export/Parquet API Retirement (August 31, 2026) 

As part of our continued platform modernization, Flexera will retire the legacy v2 Export/Parquet API on August 31, 2026. 

The Export/Parquet API operates on a legacy stack and is not part of the Technology Intelligence Platform. As a result, it will no longer receive enhancements or newly introduced data. All future innovation, improvements, and new data will be delivered through our modern APIs. 

Final Parquet files for existing datasets will remain accessible for 90 days after retirement. To ensure continued access to your data and take advantage of improved performance, flexibility, and ongoing enhancements, we recommend transitioning to the Technology Intelligence Platform GraphQL API or Query API.

Important Update: IT Visibility - Upcoming Changes to Export/Parquet API Datasets – Effective March 31, 2026  

As part of our ongoing platform modernization, Flexera will retire the legacy v2 Export/Parquet API datasets hardware_evidence, software_evidence, and software_open_source on March 31, 2026.  

Please be aware that the "Mappable," "Unknown," and "Count" columns in the hardware_evidence dataset, as well as the "Mappable," "Unknown," "Irrelevant," and "Count" columns in the software_evidence dataset, are no longer available in the Parquet API and will return null values. These columns can still be accessed through the Software Evidence UI, Query API, or GraphQL API.

Final Parquet files for hardware_evidence, software_evidence, and software_open_source datasets will remain available for 90 days following retirement. To ensure uninterrupted access to your data and benefit from our latest capabilities, we encourage you to transition to the Technology Intelligence Platform GraphQL API or Query API.

IT Visibility: TI reporting - Opt-in Auto Save Functionality in Custom reports

We are introducing Auto-Save for Custom Reports in TI Platform to significantly improve the editing experience, reduce repetitive work, and ensure user changes are preserved seamlessly across sessions. This enhancement ensures that filter selections, slicer updates, personalization changes, and layout edits are automatically saved - allowing users to focus on insights instead of manual actions.

Key Value Delivered

1. No More Manual Saving

User edits are automatically captured at intervals of 15seconds from last update, reducing the chance of losing work and eliminating repeated manual save actions.

2. Consistent Views Across Sessions

Auto-Save preferences are now stored per user. Once enabled, the setting persists even after logout or closing the session ensuring a consistent report experience every time.

3. Optimized & Efficient Saving

The system performs a save only when needed (i.e., when the report is actually “dirty”), reducing redundant save calls and improving performance.

What’s New / Key Capabilities

Auto-Save Setting Persistence

•   Your Auto-Save ON/OFF preference is now stored and automatically reapplied.

•   Ensures consistent experience without re-configuring settings on every login.

Intelligent Save Logic

•   Auto-Save only triggers when changes exist.

•   Prevents unnecessary API calls and improves responsiveness.

Interval-Based Automatic Save

•   Auto-Save runs on a time-based interval during report editing (15seconds from last update).

•   Balanced to reduce data loss while avoiding excessive save operations.

Ensures full control and prevents accidental loss.

Important Behavioral Notes

Browser Close Limitation

Auto-save cannot execute at the exact moment a browser tab is closed due to modern browser restrictions on asynchronous calls during unload. To avoid data loss:

•   Keep Auto-Save enabled

•   Avoid directly closing the tab during active edits

Background Tab Delay

Auto-Save intervals may be delayed when a tab is inactive due to browser timer throttling. Edits will still be saved on the next active cycle.

Multi-User Editing

If multiple users edit the same report simultaneously, the last save (manual or auto-save) wins.

Summary

The Auto-Save feature introduces a more reliable, intuitive, and seamless editing experience for Power BI custom report users. It reduces the risk of lost work, improves consistency, and removes friction from the report editing workflow.
