  2. ITV Data Explorer Drill-Downs are live - in-context entity detail without leaving the report

You can now click straight into any device or software row in a Data Explorer report and open a slide-out panel with the full, grouped detail for that entity without leaving the report or running a separate query.

Reports are great at breadth: lots of entities side by side. But the moment you need to understand one of them in depth, you used to hit a wall, navigate away, re-query, or ask someone to pull the detail by hand. Drill-downs close that gap. The depth is one click away, in the same view, so you can move from "what's across my estate?" to "tell me everything about this one device" in a single step.

    Why it matters

Every context-switch costs an momentum. Jumping out to re-query, or waiting on someone else to pull the detail, is exactly where investigations stall and questions go unanswered. Drill-downs now keep that depth inline, so the person looking at the report is the person who gets the answer in the moment, without breaking flow and without a separate query. That's faster time-to-insight and a lot more self-service for you.

    How it works

In a report you have built you can now click into:

    • Device detail - core attributes (manufacturer, model, serial, memory, storage) plus grouped sections for business services, lifecycle, network adapters, operating system, processors, installed software, and sustainability metrics.
    • Software detail - core attributes (manufacturer, product, version, edition) plus the associated device, lifecycle, taxonomy, installer evidence, and file evidence.

  3. IT Visibility – Evidence & Devices Enhancements

We’re excited to share a set of enhancements to the IT Visibility Devices experience, designed to give you greater transparency into the evidence behind your inventory and software data.

These updates make it easier to understand how device and software information is discovered by surfacing additional evidence types directly within the UI.

    With these enhancements, you can:

    • Gain clearer insight into device-level hardware and software evidence
    • Better understand how inventory and software data is derived
    • Improve confidence in IT Visibility data through increased transparency

    What’s New

    1.Discovered Hardware Evidence per Device

You can now view Discovered Hardware Evidence directly on each device.

    Where to find it

Inventory → IT Visibility → Devices → Hardware Evidences

    Why this matters

    • See the hardware evidence associated with a specific device in one place
    • Better understand how device hardware details are discovered and represented

2.Expanded Software Evidence on the Devices Page

Previously, the Devices page showed only Installer Evidence for software. We’ve now expanded this view to provide a more complete picture.

New evidence tabs available per device:

    • Software Evidence - File : Displays file evidence details for the selected device, enabling you to view and analyze file information associated with the device.
    • Software Evidence - OS : Displays operating system evidence details for the selected device, providing insights into the operating systems installed on the device.

    Where to find it

Inventory → IT Visibility → Devices

    Why this matters

    • Get a more comprehensive view of how software presence is detected on devices
    • Improved visibility into software evidence beyond installers alone

    3.Richer OS Evidence Details

We’ve enhanced OS evidence information across the IT Visibility UI and APIs to include:

    • Caption
    • CSD Version

    Where to find it

Inventory → IT Visibility → Devices → Software Evidence - OS

Applications & Evidence → IT Visibility Software → Software Evidence → OS Evidence

    Why this matters:

    • More detailed OS context for analysis and reporting
    • Improved consistency between UI and API data

These enhancements are part of our ongoing effort to improve transparency, trust, and usability across IT Visibility.

    Key Points Regarding Theme Implementation:

    • Theme updates for OOTB reports have been completed and are now deployed to the OOTB section.
    • Each OOTB and custom report is assigned a dedicated theme at the time of its creation to ensure that future theme updates do not unintentionally impact existing custom reports.
    • When a new custom report is created, it automatically adopts the latest available theme.
    • When an OOTB report is duplicated to create a custom report, the theme applied at the time of duplication is retained.
    • Existing custom reports will continue using their originally assigned theme, preserving their current appearance and functionality.

    Please note:

These theme updates only affect the visual design (look and feel) of the reports and do not alter any data. As a result, you may notice visual differences between older and newer reports, depending on when they were created but rest assured, the integrity and performance of all reports remain unaffected.
