  1. Flexera One IT Asset Management (ITAM) – October 2026 release – Now Available

We are pleased to announce that the October 2026 release of Flexera One ITAM is now available customers. North American customers will receive access during next week. This release focuses on keeping integrations current and reliable, reducing manual effort in data onboarding, and improving device visibility – with enhancements shaped by customer feedback.

Nutanix Prism/AHV Integration Upgraded to v4.2 APIs

The IT Asset Management integration with Nutanix Prism/AHV now supports Nutanix v4.2 APIs for virtualization inventory collection, helping ensure continued compatibility with supported Nutanix platforms as Nutanix transitions away from v3 APIs.

To maximize compatibility across Nutanix environments, the integration first attempts a v4.2 API probe call. If the probe is successful, inventory is collected using the v4.2 APIs. If the Nutanix environment explicitly does not support v4.2 APIs, the integration automatically falls back to the v3 APIs.

    Key highlights:

    •      Helps avoid inventory collection failures as v3 APIs are retired, and maintains compatibility with newer Nutanix releases

    •      Provides a modern, unified API framework with enhanced security, advanced querying and batch processing, and access to new

    Nutanix platform features

    •      All collected data continues to be normalized into the existing IT Asset Management inventory model, so there are no changes to compliance, reporting, or optimization workflows

This enhancement protects continuity of virtualization inventory and supports reliable compliance and optimization processes for customers running Nutanix.

REST API Support in Business Adapter Studio

Business Adapter Studio (BAS) now supports native REST API integrations, enabling IT Asset Management administrators to integrate directly with cloud services, SaaS applications, and third-party systems without relying on custom scripts or file-based imports.

    Key highlights:

    •      Connect directly through REST APIs, with a guided configuration experience for connection setup, data preview, and field mapping

    •      Import large datasets efficiently with built-in support for common pagination methods

    •      Map REST API data directly to ITAM records such as contracts, licenses, and purchase orders

    •      Protect sensitive credentials with secure storage, encryption, and masking of API keys, tokens, and client secrets

    •      Two new preconfigured Coupa templates – CoupaContract.xml and CoupaPurchaseOrder.xml – provide predefined mappings between Coupa REST API responses and ITAM contract and purchase order records

By removing reliance on external tools and staging processes, this enhancement accelerates integration projects and reduces implementation and maintenance effort.

    Simplified AI Purchase Order Ingestion

Users can now start the AI purchase creation workflow directly from the All Purchases page and easily track uploaded documents with direct access to unprocessed purchases.

    Key changes:

    •      The Create A Purchase button on the All Purchases page is now a dropdown with two options: Manual Purchase Creation, which opens the General tab of the Purchase Properties page, and AI Purchase Creation, which takes you straight to the Data Imports page with Document (AI Recognition) pre-selected

    •      A new View all unprocessed purchases link on the AI creation page opens the Unprocessed Purchases page, so users can check the status of previously uploaded documents in seconds

This delivers faster workflows, greater transparency, and improved auditability, with complete visibility into unprocessed purchase orders throughout the ingestion process.

Note: the AI Purchase Order Ingestion capability requires the Allow AI assisted purchase order upload setting to be enabled under Turn on AI capabilities within IT Asset Management in your organization’s settings.

Full DNS Host Name Support in Device Views and Reports

IT Asset Management now supports DNS Host name as a separate device property throughout the user interface and Report Builder. Previously, device listings relied on the Computer name field, which displays the NetBIOS name and is limited to 15 characters, so longer device names were truncated. The full DNS host name reported by the Flexera Agent is now captured and displayed separately, while existing NetBIOS-based workflows and integrations are preserved.

DNS Host name is available as an optional column or property in:

    •      Device views and grids – open any inventory grid, select Column Chooser, and add the DNS Host name column

    •      Device properties – shown in the General properties section of a device record

    •      Report Builder – available as a report column or filter for custom reports under Inventory Device and Remote Device

This enhancement provides complete device identification across your IT estate and makes it easier to find and report on devices with long host names.

    Additional Detail

Full details can be found in the Feature by Release announcement for October here and in the IT Asset Management release notes here, which also cover fixed known issues and the FlexNet Inventory Agent and Inventory Beacon 26.4.0 changes.

We are pleased to announce the release of the FlexNet Inventory Agent 26.4.0.

    Release Date: EU/AP: 2026-10-14, NA: 2026-10-21

    This release includes:

    • Web metering module metadata
    • FlexNet Inventory Agent Oracle inventory performance improvements
    • Immediate upload of web metering data
    • Fix for KRM agent and HELM chart deployment failures in OpenShift environments
    • Fix for inventory settings download logic
    • Fix for Unix software process scan preference name
    • Fix for duplicate Unix process inventory records
    • Fix for Usage Agent termination on Unix-like systems
    • Bundled software version updated

    Customer Impact:

    • Previously, the web metering module executable lacked descriptive metadata. Now, the webmetering.exe file includes version information, file descriptions, and copyright details. This enhancement provides better visibility and identification of the module for administrators and system tools.
    • Previously, Oracle component scanning could consume excessive system resources, leading to long execution times or potential system instability in large environments. Now, the scanning workflow has been optimized to reduce memory and CPU utilization. This enhancement provides faster inventory results and improved host stability during Oracle discovery.
    • Previously, web metering data files were saved locally and only processed during the scheduled "Upload client files" task, which could lead to file accumulation if the schedule fell outside working hours. Now, the web metering module triggers an upload immediately after a data file is generated. This enhancement provides more timely data availability and prevents the buildup of unsent files on the device.
    • Previously, the removal of an OpenShift extension prevented the Flexera Kubernetes Agent from running as a root user, causing deployment failures in OpenShift environments. This release resolves this issue.
    • Previously, there was an issue where the agent would always download the InventorySettings.xml file regardless of whether it had changed. This release resolves this issue.
    • Previously, there was an issue where the preference PerformUnixSoftwareProcessScan was mislabeled as PerformUnixSwProcessScan in the command line options, causing the agent to miss some file evidence. This release resolves this issue.
    • Previously, there was an issue where Unix process inventory data could include inconsistent property details, leading to duplicate records when the same executable was discovered through both file system scanning and process detection. This release resolves this issue.
    • Previously, there was an issue where the Usage Agent could unexpectedly terminate on Unix-like operating systems while reading configuration settings. This release resolves this issue.
    • The OpenSSL, Expat, libcurl, containerd, grpc and Go third party libraries bundled with the agent have been updated in this release to address security vulnerabilities.

    Customer Impact:

    Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager Connector

Before this release: Customers using Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager, including those transitioning from the legacy Oracle VM platform, did not have a supported SIM connector for collecting OLVM virtualization inventory into SAM on Snow Atlas or Snow License Manager. This resulted in limited visibility into OLVM-managed hosts, virtual machines, clusters, and their relationships, increasing reliance on manual collection or alternative approaches.

After this release: The new connector automatically collects inventory from OLVM environments through the OLVM API and imports OLVM-managed hosts, virtual machines, clusters, and their relationships into SAM Core on Snow Atlas and Snow License Manager. This expands virtualization inventory coverage, reduces reliance on manual processes, and helps customers transitioning from Oracle VM to OLVM maintain visibility across their virtualized environments to support license-compliance processes.

For configuration information, refer to the Oracle Linux VM connector user guide.

    Discovery Data From File Connector

    ·      The addition of the DiscoveryDate field provides a consistent discovery timestamp, improving metadata consistency and reliable processing across discovery sources.

    ServiceNow ITSM Connectors

    ·      The configurable page size improves computer-data retrieval reliability by allowing customers to adjust the number of records retrieved according to their environment and payload size.

    ·      OAuth requests now use the proxy settings configured in the connector, supporting reliable ServiceNow authentication in environments that require proxy communication.

    HCL BigFix Connector

    ·      Corrected device identity mapping prevents distinct devices from being incorrectly merged, improving device identification and host-to-virtual-machine relationships.

    ·      Improved pagination ensures complete processing of large datasets, reducing the risk of missing software inventory records.

    ·      Improved filtering validation prevents inconsistent software-instance and software-metric selections, supporting more complete and reliable inventory data.

    VMware vSphere Connector

    ·      Preserving BIOS serial numbers exactly as reported by VMware vSphere improves consistency when comparing or combining data from multiple inventory sources.

    ·      Correct restoration of proxy settings allows subsequent connector operations to use the appropriate network configuration without restarting Snow Integration Manager.

    BMC Discovery Connector

    ·      Filtering software records with missing names prevents malformed records from disrupting downstream processing while preserving valid software inventory data.

    Microsoft Hyper-V Connector

    ·      Correct handling of UPN-formatted service accounts supports successful authentication and data aggregation against remote SCVMM servers.

    Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization Connector

    ·      Corrected host and datacenter mapping improves the accuracy of reporting, grouping, and license allocation in Snow Atlas and Snow License Manager.

  5. Official release of FlexNet Inventory Agent 26.3.0

We are pleased to announce the release of the FlexNet Inventory Agent 26.3.0.

    Release Date: EU/AP: 2026-09-08, NA: 2026-09-15

    This release includes:

    • Improved software discovery for security-hardened Kubernetes containers
    • Fix for Unix software process cache handling of .war and .ear files
    • Bundled software version updated

    Customer Impact:

    • Previously, software discovery in Kubernetes environments was limited when encountering security-hardened, minimal, or ephemeral container designs such as read-only filesystems or scratch-based images. Now, the Flexera Kubernetes Inventory Agent (KRM) provides comprehensive visibility into containerized software regardless of the container image type, including support for init and read-only containers. This enhancement provides improved risk governance and more accurate license management for modern Kubernetes deployment scenarios.
    • Previously, the inventory agent's handling of Java process extensions on Unix systems did not correctly account for .war and .ear files, potentially leading to duplicate entries. This release resolves this issue.
    • The OpenSSL, Expat and Go third party libraries bundled with the agent have been updated in this release to address security vulnerabilities.

    • Hi @Gabriel Carvalho (Flexera Software) , can you please provide detailed documentation on the capabilities of container scanning via Full KRM. Ideally a complete list of pre-requisites a container must meet to be able to scan it. And the same for docker/podman discovery via server agents please - although I believe the same ndtrack.sh is used for those and K8S so assume discovery of these is also enhanced?

For reference right now our container scan rate is at about 40% across docker/podman and K8S containers which is not great. I've been investigating an alternate process to extract the data (outside of flex agents) and import via inventory adapters.

I'm sure there used to be a document detailing this but have not been able to find it for quite some time. I've been looking inDownload Flexera Kubernetes Inventory Agent | IT Asset Management Documentation and sub pages

  6. Official release of FlexNet Inventory Agent 26.2.0

We are pleased to announce the release of the FlexNet Inventory Agent 26.2.0.

    Release Date: EU/AP: 2026-08-05, NA: 2026-08-12

    This release includes:

    • Support for alternative extraction tools on Azure Linux
    • Kubernetes Remote Monitoring agent improvements
    • Removal of obsolete OpenShift root extension

    • Fix for Lightweight Kubernetes helm chart volume support
    • Fix for KRM IBM Licensing Service scanning configuration
    • Fix for KRM permission denied errors on persistent volumes
    • Bundled software version updated

    Customer Impact:

    • Previously, the FlexNet Inventory Agent required the tar and awk utilities to extract and run on Linux containers, which are sometimes missing in Azure Linux environments. Now, the agent can fall back to using bsdtar and handles missing awk commands gracefully. This enhancement provides improved compatibility and reliability for inventory gathering in restricted container environments.
    • Previously, the Flexera Kubernetes Inventory Agent (KRM) could experience instability in AKS environments due to transport issues and lacked granular timeouts for tracker execution. Now, KRM includes a global transport circuit breaker, improved platform detection for Azure, and hardened execution stages with specific timeouts. This enhancement provides greater resilience, reduced control-plane pressure, and more reliable image tracking across diverse cluster environments.
    • Previously, the KRM installation included an OpenShift extension that allowed the agent to run as a root user. Now, this extension and its associated configurations have been removed as they are no longer required for modern deployments. This enhancement provides a more secure and streamlined installation process by adhering to least-privilege principles.
    • Previously, the macOS agent would crash if bundle metadata contained a non-numeric "last modified" field. This release resolves this issue.
    • Previously, the Unix software process cache did not have a fixed size limit, potentially leading to unbounded growth. This release resolves this issue.
    • Previously, the agent's network timeout settings were not configurable, leading to potential communication failures under high load. This release resolves this issue.
    • Previously, the Lightweight Kubernetes Agent (LWK) helm chart did not support volume mounts required for custom TLS certificates. This release resolves this issue.
    • Previously, the Flexera Kubernetes Inventory Agent (KRM) helm chart would enable IBM Licensing Service scanning even when the property was explicitly set to false. This release resolves this issue.
    • Previously, the Flexera Kubernetes Inventory Agent (KRM) could fail with a "permission denied" error when accessing its database on a PersistentVolumeClaim (PVC). This release resolves this issue.
    • The libcurl, Expat, podman and Go third party libraries bundled with the agent have been updated in this release to address security vulnerabilities.
