IT Visibility: TI reporting Updates - Export Report with filters applied - Live Now!

What’s New

Users with view-only permissions can now apply filters and slicer selections to a report and export the report with those selections reflected in the exported content.

The Problem We Addressed

Previously, when users accessed a report in view mode and applied filters or slicers, those selections were not carried through during export. Because the export process was backend-driven, the exported report could revert to the default report state rather than reflecting the user’s current view.

This created a gap for users who had permission to consume and analyze reports but did not have edit access, limiting their ability to export a personalized view of the data.

The Improvement

The export experience now captures the user-applied filter and slicer selections in view mode, ensuring that the exported report represents the context the user was actively analyzing.

• Enables view-only users to personalize reports before exporting.
• Ensures exported content reflects the filters and slicers selected by the user.
• Provides a more consistent experience between the report being viewed and the exported output.
• Removes the need for edit permissions simply to export a filtered view.

Why It Matters

This enhancement makes report export more aligned with how customers consume embedded reports filter first, analyze the relevant information, and then export the view that matters to them, regardless of whether they have edit or view permissions.

The Container Inventory Overview Report now extends infrastructure visibility by providing insights into the software deployed inside container workloads, helping organizations understand not only where containers run, but also what technologies they contain.

The report includes:

• Top 10 Software Releases by Containers – Identify the most widely deployed software releases across container environments.
• Software Technology Currency for Containers – Evaluate current software versions and identify opportunities to upgrade.
• Obsolete Software Releases by Year – Track software releases that have reached obsolete status to proactively reduce operational and security risk.
• Software Releases Summary Table – View a consolidated inventory of software releases, associated versions, lifecycle status

This visibility enables teams to improve software governance, strengthen compliance and reduce risks associated with outdated software running inside containers.

Hello There, We are pleased to announce the below updates to our TI Reporting space.

Inventory Normalization Insights Report – Expanded Evidence Coverage

What’s New

The Inventory Normalization Insights (Sankey) report has been enhanced to provide a more complete and actionable view of how software titles are normalized. In addition to Installer Evidence, the report now includes:

• OS Evidence
• File Evidence

The report also introduces enhanced interactive navigation, enabling users to seamlessly drill into underlying software evidence for deeper investigation.

Why This Matters

Many customer environments rely heavily on OS-level discovery and file-based evidence to identify software. Previously, the Sankey report visualized only installer-driven normalization flows, which could result in:

• Normalized titles appearing without visible installer evidence
• Limited insight into how certain software was identified
• Reduced confidence in normalization outcomes

What’s Changed

• Expanded Evidence Streams
• The Sankey visualization now displays three distinct evidence flows:
  • Installer Evidence
  • OS Evidence
  • File Evidence
• Enhanced Interactive Navigation
• New UI action buttons enable direct navigation from the Sankey report to the Software Evidence pages:
• Applications & Evidence → IT Visibility Software → Software Evidence
  • Installer Evidence
  • File Evidence
  • OS Evidence

Navigation supports optional contextual filters, allowing users to quickly pivot from insights to detailed evidence records.

• Greater transparency in normalization results
• Improved troubleshooting for unexpected or mismatched normalized titles

Note: Work in progress for adding native UI Navigation and filters on Unrecognized and Irrelevant for the File evidence section, and will be released in the current quarter.
