Inventory Normalization Insights Report – Expanded Evidence Coverage

What’s New

The Inventory Normalization Insights (Sankey) report has been enhanced to provide a more complete and actionable view of how software titles are normalized. In addition to Installer Evidence, the report now includes:

• OS Evidence
• File Evidence

The report also introduces enhanced interactive navigation, enabling users to seamlessly drill into underlying software evidence for deeper investigation.

Why This Matters

Many customer environments rely heavily on OS-level discovery and file-based evidence to identify software. Previously, the Sankey report visualized only installer-driven normalization flows, which could result in:

• Normalized titles appearing without visible installer evidence
• Limited insight into how certain software was identified
• Reduced confidence in normalization outcomes

What’s Changed

• Expanded Evidence Streams
• The Sankey visualization now displays three distinct evidence flows:
  • Installer Evidence
  • OS Evidence
  • File Evidence
• Enhanced Interactive Navigation
• New UI action buttons enable direct navigation from the Sankey report to the Software Evidence pages:
• Applications & Evidence → IT Visibility Software → Software Evidence
  • Installer Evidence
  • File Evidence
  • OS Evidence

Navigation supports optional contextual filters, allowing users to quickly pivot from insights to detailed evidence records.

• Improved troubleshooting for unexpected or mismatched normalized titles

Note: Work in progress for adding native UI Navigation and filters on Unrecognized and Irrelevant for the File evidence section, and will be released in the current quarter.

What’s New

Technology Intelligence (TI) reports now expose additional IT Asset Management (ITAM) attributes, improving asset-level visibility and governance.
