Lifecycle Intelligence: One View. Better Decisions!
Previously, customers looking to understand lifecycle exposure had to navigate between separate Proactive SW/HW EOL/End-of-Sale and Obsolescence Guidance and Strategic SW/HW Insights reports to answer related questions what is already at risk, what is coming next, how severe is the exposure, and where should they prioritize action. While both reports addressed important aspects of lifecycle management, the split experience required users to connect insights across multiple reports.
As part of our continuous review of customer feedback, usage patterns, and input from internal stakeholders, we identified an opportunity to simplify this experience and make lifecycle intelligence more actionable. We have therefore consolidated the Proactive and Strategic lifecycle capabilities into a single, enhanced intelligence experience.
The new Software Lifecycle Intelligence and Hardware Lifecycle Intelligence bring lifecycle visibility, severity analysis, roadmap planning, and organizational impact together in one place. This creates a more connected user journey—from understanding current lifecycle exposure and prioritizing risk to planning remediation, technology transitions, procurement, and future budgets.
What’s New & Enhanced
- One consolidated lifecycle experience: Combines the capabilities previously distributed across Proactive and Strategic Hardware/Software Lifecycle reports.
- Complete lifecycle visibility: Understand current exposure as well as upcoming End-of-Sale/EOL and obsolescence milestones.
- Severity-based replacement prioritization: Identify Critical and High severity devices/models or Software’s requiring attention.
- Hardware/Software lifecycle roadmap: Visualize upcoming lifecycle milestones to support replacement, procurement and support technology transition planning.
- Organizational analysis: Understand exposure across business services, business units, cost centers, and locations.
- Detailed drill-through: Move from roadmap-level model/release insights to lifecycle dates and affected device information.
- Lifecycle-focused analysis: Easily switch between End-of-Sale/End-of-Life and Obsolete perspectives to focus analysis on the required lifecycle stage.

Both Software and Hardware Lifecycle Intelligence reports create a single destination for software and hardware lifecycle visibility, risk prioritization, remediation planning, and future technology planning helping organizations move from simply identifying lifecycle exposure to taking proactive action.
Note: Customer action required!
- For Software Lifecycle Intelligence, update reports and widgets that use EOL Criticality to use EOL Severity.
- For Hardware Lifecycle Intelligence, update reports and widgets that use Last Obsolete Criticality to use Obsolete Severity.
The older fields remain available under the Deprecated section for backward compatibility but are planned for permanent removal in January. After removal, reports and widgets that still reference these old fields will stop working.
