    ITAM and Flexera SaaS manager duplicate users

    We are pulling user information for ITAM from AD, but at the same time we have SaaS setup for Microsoft, Adobe etc. This is causing a larger number of duplicate user data as there are multiple users pulled in both through SaaS and AD for ITAM.

     

    I was wondering if there is a best practice to merge/ignore or do anything to avoid the duplicates in our reporting.

    User exclusion and device exclusion no longer working.

    Hi all,

    Our user exclusion seems to no longer be excluding users. It was working before and I am aware of the need to delete existing users before it will stop appearing on SLM. They seem to be coming through again. our config is as follows

     

     

    root,%\root,%NoLoggedOn%,%nobody%,hall.sh.ac.uk\[_]%,[_]%,%/defaultuser0

     

     

    Most recently we have updated our licence count but have used the same config file just with an updated key.

     

     

    I'm not aware of anything else that has changed. I've tried changing the list just so it saves again.

     

     

    Can anyone advise of anywhere to check?

      I had a support ticket open (CS0063387) but it shows as "Pending Release" so I assume it could come with the next release of SLM.

    User Subscription Plans
    Hi,  Does anyone know if it is possible to manually update the  Subscription Plans assigned against a user? Or more specifically, add additional lines to this section? For clarity, i am looking under: I would like to add more user based subscriptions into this area. This would be useful for managing subscriptions such as JetBrains or Cinema 4D products - so when a user leaves the business, we have a central repository of all the subscriptions they had.  Dan

      Does the data shown here come from your O365 SIM Connector? It looks like it does. So I assume you will probably be able to add to this list only if you have a cloud connector for software like JetBrains and Cinema4D ... not even sure if those connectors exist. Can someone with Cloud connectors confirm?

    SLM Mac Users - a hot mess
    Hello you lovely people of Snow Community   While I've been managing a Snow deployment for around 12 months this is my first post.  So I have my noob pants on, please be gentle!  We are running SLM 8 and have had terrific support from the Snow support team in Australia in deploying, but I feel we'll benefit a lot from getting involved with the online community a bit more so here I am. Everything is going well with regards to Windows desktop/server, VMWare, AIX and Linux but we're getting some messy data reporting in from our test Mac deployment machines, specifically associated users.  See below. Has anybody else has this issue and solved it?  Thanks in advance.

    User Data showing in SLM database but not in UI

    For a while now we have not been able to see user data in snow license manager. I recently over the past few weeks got access to the back end. When digging through the database I can see all of my users data being stored here [SnowLicenseManager.dbo.tblUserInfo] The problem I am facing is that this data is not in the users tab of SLM. I am fairly new to snow and have no clue how this could be the case. Could anyone provide some insight on what could be causing this and if there is a solution anyone can think of.

      Hi Andrew, I had the same issue a while ago not only with users but with datacenters as well. Did you change your organisational structure recently? I noticed that in the SLM database both users and datacenters still had old OrgChecksum values attributed to them that did not exist anymore in the actual org structure. Somehow these changes made were not applied to all inventory objects. So I re-implemented assignment rules for my OUs; after that the appropriate OrgChecksum were applied to users and datacenters, and the objects reappeared in the WebUI. Hope this helps. Best,   Alex

    Users from Mac's issue?
    Hi,  Very new to Snow and have only just started deploying the agent on two machines 1x Windows and 1x Mac. upon checking i see the agent has pulled through all these 'Users' (32 users when i believe 4 is the maximum of users logged into these laptops) when these are not actually user's and more like Services. is this normal?

      Hi ‌ BEWARE : Please note that the filter needs to present the underscore between brackets !!! The filter must be: %\[_]% This is because the underscore "_" character is also a wildcard! (replacement for any 1 character) If you implement the filter without the square brackets, it will exclude more than what you want Please see this thread that presents a solution from ‌

    View license assignment in SLM 9
    Hello everyone, Unfortunately, since SLM 8 there is no view of the license assignment on the object (computer / User). To view the license assignment you have to click on the report "License Tracking per... " report. Now also the license assignment of connectors (like Office 365) is displayed there. However, other license assignments are missing. For example Microsoft Visual Studio: in the screenshot you can see my user assigned to a Microsoft 365 E3 plan. However, the manual assignment of Visual Studio and the other license assignments are missing.   In the Screenshot you see the license assignment.  (The term of the subscription is current and the contract continues and has not expired) How can I view the license assignment of users?  Perhaps there are side effects to the question of license allocation and compliance calculation of data centers license allocation.
