How to exclude a destination folder from the release...

Using IS 2009 Premier, Basic MSI Install

When I created the package, in the Files and Folder view I include all the folders for various features that will be deployed (e.g., Program Files\MS\Stuff and Program Files\Sun\Stuff). However the final install package will be for either MS or Sun, not both.

Anyway, when I build the package, both folders are visible on the output media.

Any help on how to only show the MS folder with the MS install and the Sun folder with the Sun install?

Hi Rick,

I try to understand your problem. Have you one or two packages?

Do you want a single package which perform a conditionnal installation? Or two packages for specific target?

I have one package.

I would like to add something I tried:

Previously I was creating my release media as Uncompressed. After I posted this question, I tried Compressed for the first time.

That actually provides a solution to my problem since now the users can't see the files we are deploying because they are in a cab file.

Unless there is a way to conditionally populate the release media, I think I will go with the Compressed option.

You can use the "Release flag".
