  1. Can we archive the base license that was added to an upgrade license?

I have a base license which is expired and already added an upgrade license as well. Can I archive the base license? Because when I archive the base license, the upgrade license shows as Incomplete. What should be done here?

      Hi HanaSam,

An upgrade license is only valid if there is also a valid base license.

If this is archived, it is no longer available for the compliance calculation

      Hi Slynch,

what do you mean with "Is it possible to add this GUI to desktops?"

      Which GUI?

  2. 1 of 2
    • Thanks, there I can see a lot of different dates of the last few months.

So I guess SRS updates went fine.

( ps. I asked support this and they couldn't help me )

  3. Looking for SQL Server reporting options

I am looking for a way to customize an SLM report to show information I find relevant for SQL Server installations. There are two reports that provide some of the information (Applications installed on virtual machines in a datacenter, Applications per computer and user), but no single report that can be customized to show me all of these fields:

    Datacenter

    Host

    Computer name/Virtual machine name

    Application

    Status

    Virtual (Y/N)

    License required (Y/N)

    Installed

    Processors

    Total cores

    Host processors

    Host cores

    First discovered

I have to create both reports and import the desired fields into one. I would prefer not to have to go through the extra steps.

Does anyone have a single report, custom or otherwise, that contains each of these fields, or is anyone using SSRS to pull reports directly from the SQL Server database?

      Hi

Apologies that you have not had any feedback with regards to your question, the best thing would be to raise this in the support portal (https://community.flexera.com/s/support-hub), they can have a look at the report to see if it is possible with the SLM report tool, and can find also find out about SSRS reports for you.

If you it is not possible to create the report within the current SLM, then the support team can put you in touch with our Professional Services team who can create any report you wish with the relevant related fields, and make it accessible for you within your SLM. Please note though that they can charge for some of their services however, if you let them what you are trying to achieve, they can let you know if there would be any costs, and if so, what those costs would be.

      Kind Regards

  4. Anyone else have difficulty in locating matches for some Red Hat licences in SNOW catalogue against order records from Red Hat licence mmgt portal?

I use a Red Hat Licence portal that shows all our licence orders - finding it difficult to get matches in our SNOW catalogue - SKUS dont work - filling out SRS templates to add new apps is my last resort

    • Hi MBH,

well sadly I think thats exactly what you will have to do: Create a SKU-Request with DIS.

If the SKU is missing you have to add it.

We stopped using SKUs to identify applications in snow.

I would have ended up in creating one SKU request after the other.

At some point it felt more like creating the snow-SKU-catalog than benefiting from it.

Instead you can directly search for the application.

Regarding RHEL you might not even be able to find an application for the different subscription types.

Not sure, if there was some improvement in the meantime.

We started creating custom applications for the different RHEL subscription types in our environment and are moving licenses via crossedition rights to the applications with recognition snow is providing.

      Regards,

      Sascha
