I do not see any import template created for Network Gear using the Custom Inventory Importer.

    • Hi Mathias,

      You have 2 options:

      • You can mass-import links to documents stored on the network (beware, the download link will not work if you point to a regular network folder unless you disable some basic security features on your modern browser or use IE)
      • You can script your import using SQL. Not too complex. The content of the files are stored in a field of one of the SLM tables

  4. What is the correct syntax in CSV file header, if I try to import 2 or more different custom fields per computer in one CSV file?

For example there is a custom field A , and another custom field B, and a computer C. How the correct CSV Import file header should looks like?

    Question with a best answer.

Sorry, I've already done some tests with Data Import Tool and Field Mapping in webconfigurator. And found a solution by my own. It is easy, you have to place all of your custom fields at the end of the CSV header. At the begin of the line you have to place the "Computer name" as identifier. Join the rows with semicolon or comma. The Import Tool in the webconfigurator give you the mapping tool in a separate tab. And it is required to configure the Custom fields before (in the SnowBoard Adminstration).

For example the CSV Header: "Computer name;CustomFieldA;CustomFieldB;CustomFieldC"

    • Now that I have populated 95% of the purchase dates for our Dell PC's and Servers into SNOW, I want to get that data into ServiceNow CMDB via the already established connector.  It appears that the Purchase date is not a field that is part of the aggregation by default. I see you can add and aggregate custom fields but Purchase date is not a custom field. If I add it I get two choices in the column chooser for Purchase date. One with the data I imported and the other that is partially populated. Obviously I took the wrong approach.  So I have two questions, first how do I get the purchase date part of the aggregation, and second, how do I get other missing PC related data that is in SNOW but is not showing up in ServiceNow?  Has anyone been successful getting custom data info ServiceNow?  Thanks

  6. Import / Update Existing Users

    Hi All,

I got an user export from a customer which I would like to use to import in SLM 9.

The export doesn't contain the Domain in front of the 'User name' but SLM does.

    Customer export:

    User name                 Full name

    JD                              John Doe

    SLM:

    User name                  Full name

    NTDOMAIN\JD            John Doe

So there is a mismatch ('JD' vs 'NTDOMAIN\JD') and the import can't continue.

Customer has a lot of different domains so I would like to know if there is a way to use some kind of a wildcard in front of the user name so it discards the domain.

    Thank you in advance,

    Andreas

    • There is no such option afaik. Is AD Discovery not bringing in the User's Full Names? This would be the easiest way.

  7. All Application License list

I want to upload Microsoft licenses in snow via import template and only challenge that i am facing is that i do not have application list from snow. I do not want application list from all application but list of all application from License tab. I have some licenses like SQL server "Microsoft SQL Server 2017  Device CAL" which are not available in our application list and i want same naming convention so that i can update on the import template and upload it. Do we have all application license list?

Hi Kiran your example application License "Microsoft SQL Server 2017   Device CAL" has a double space between 2017 and Device You can go to the application menu… select your application ...open the context menu and click on add application license or go to License menu and click on add License... here you can search for your application via Name or Sku It would be best if you have the sku, here the search is most effective. This will then show you the corresponding usage rights too.
