    Adobe OAuth authentication

    Hello all,

     

    Adobe has deprecated the JWT authentication will be fully deprecated in Jan 25,

     

    I was trying to set up the new integrator with OAuth, but it still asks for the private key, although the adobe documentation states that there is no need for that

    make sure you are running SIM 6.2, also make sure the technical account and private key path are blank if you are changing the authorisation setting from JWT to OAuth

    Adobe’s driver towards SaaS Licensing Models 

     

    With Adobe accelerating their transition to subscription based licensing, what does this mean for consumers of their software? Adobe licensing has moved to almost 100% "User" subscription licensing, the challenge that you face is more one of optimization rather than compliance. Often there is risk when mixing legacy licenses with current “User” based licenses. It could be that you have a plan to migrate away from your reliance on legacy “Device” based licenses altogether and you need accurate data to forecast your new “User” based license requirements.

    Snow Software's Licensing Services can review your Adobe consumption with “User” usage data for all Adobe applications to provide you with the optimal licensing solution. A review takes into account legacy licensing rules in combination with current licensing options e.g. “All Application license” or “Single Application License”.

     

    Example: A customer is running an endpoint with Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and Premier Pro used by a single user would require x2 “Single Application licenses” to cover Photoshop and Premier Pro and a separate Acrobat Subscription license to cover Acrobat. If more than three additional applications are used in total an “All Applications” license would be suggested to optimize spend for most customers (subject to contractual and entitlement analysis).

    Adobe Creative Cloud Connector for Harvesting Licenses

    How report from Adobe Creative Cloud Connector can be used for harvesting adobe licenses?

    My report is saying that more than 900 licenses are assigned, but not used. Which it does not seems to be true, because most of the users are active in AD and I checked. They use their applications to their daily work.

     

    Do I need any other report to crossmatch the information?

      Hi @Marcus Calzavara​ ,

       

      You will need to raise a support case to identify the cause of why your Adobe CC licenses are assigned but flagged as "not used".

       

      Regarding "Reharvesting of Adobe CC", this is certainly achievable using Snow Automation Platform (AP) and some technical services, please speak with your account manager at Snow to put you in touch with the EMEA technical services team who can scope your requirements and give you a rough order of magnitude for the effort in designing a tailored workflow.

    How to add multiple license account under Adobe Creative Cloud connector?

    Hi Folks,

     

    We have separate Admin accounts as per Country for Adobe CC. So, how can we add this information under connector? I have configured connector for one country (India) and we are getting information. But, unable to add other location data. Add option is disabled. Only remove and rename options are enabled.

     

    Do we need single admin account for all location?

      We had to wait until the annual renewal came up and renew (or buy net new) on the one portal you are keeping. In the meantime, buy all new new on the consolidated VIP portal.

    Adobe Creative Cloud & adding subscription in SLM

    Hi All,

     

    I have some questions according to Adobe connector working: 1) we've an active connector and information about subscriptions is visible in Adobe module in SLM, should we also add same subscriptions (both Creative Cloud and Acrobat Pro) normally via license adding?; 2) data from Adobe connector and data from the agent is not consistent. We have one user, who is visible on "Adobe all users list", he has assigned and is using "Acrobat DC Pro", but when we go to this user, he has "Adobe Acrobat DC 2021 Pro Subs - not covered" - why is it so? Does anyone has similar situation?

    If you go to Reports > All Reports and search for Unlinked Adobe Creative Cloud users, it will show you a list of all the users within your Adobe Portal that haven't been linked to a user in Snow License Manager

     

    It might not be the issue but it's definitely a good place to start :)

      Is the user linked within the Adobe Creative Cloud page in Snow to their SLM user? If they're not, that might explain why the application is showing as not covered.

       

      It's been a while since I've done anything with ACC, but I'm sure if the user linkage is there and the user is covered in the portal, the ACC connector should cover them in SLM as well - but the linkage is a key part here.

    Adobe License Assignment and Adobe Creative Cloud Connector

    Hi All,

    SIC User Guide does not answer for me. Does the Adobe Creative Cloud Connector take care of the Adobe license assignments within SLM???

     

    I would like to establish if we still need to manually assign licenses to users or if the connector has now taken care of this for us.

    Hi Sharon,

    I think that for the license assignment, you need to use a federated domain that is using a local on-prem server.

    This allows to auto-assign licenses to users based on AD Group membership.

    The connector does not read the licensing server data AFAIK but it would be quite easy to import the license assignment as taken from the AD groups and import into SLM using the Web Configurator.

    Does Anybody Know Why This Is Happening? ACRORD32. EXE

    Why is this happening? We can't get rid of this Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2015 entry.

    Yes, DC 2015 is no longer installed but DC 2020 is. Snow is lighting up on ACRORD32.EXE for both versions and DC 2015 is nowhere to be found on the asset. We are running Win 10 with the 5.3 Snow agent (SI 5 and SLM 8)

      In some cases it left remnants in the registry as uninstall keys. Doing a regedit got rid of those and cleared the inventory. Others however, had no registry entry and still appeared in the inventory even though the software was completely gone and the metering history had long since passed. Removing the asset from the inventory and letting Snow repopulate seemed to help in those cases.

    Adobe Creative Cloud - Single Apps licensing

    We have around 200 Single apps licenses for Adobe Creative Cloud, such that he total no of Single Apps (Full List available here - https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/kb/single-app-products-list.html) being used in the environment should not cross 200.

    But SNOW doesn't recognize the SKU (65300291), nor does it have anything called Adobe Single Apps in the Application search area. So, how are we supposed to enter this particular license into SNOW? And is SNOW equipped to handle this peculiar calculation by itself?

    Hi Vikash,

    As suspected by us, SNOW cannot do this by itself, we have to manually do this.

     

    Please find below excerpt from SNOW team, in response to this question -

    "In relation to Adobe CC single app licensing mechanism, We can not assign applications automatically. We can not assign an application to different families. The customer pelase needs to add those licenses manually from their environment."
