Issues in Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 RTM / SP1 Redistributable Package (x86/x64)

When using
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)

Redistributable Packages as InstallShield Prerequisite following Issue occurs or may occur:

Prerequisite fails to install and customer is asked whether to continue the installation.

Why?

For VCRedist 2010 Microsoft changed the way of deploying. They nomore allow Side-by-Side installations but install the product as major upgrade. The mentioned prerequisite (if not changed) check for the product code to detect if they are already installed.

For a system with installed VCRedist 2010 x86 SP1: When installing a product including VCRedist 2010 x86 RTM: InstallShield Prerequisite indicates (based on ProductCode in registry) it is not installed. Installation of VCRedist RTM fails as a newer version is already installed. Customer will be asked if continue the installation...

InstallShield has released latest redistributables for VC++ 2010 SP1. Please download the latest prq and check if the same behavior occurs.
