  1. Empowering Decisions with Intuitive, Actionable Data using Data Explorer - Live Now!

    Release Summary

We’re excited to announce the General Availability of Data Explorer on Jan 15th, an AI-native reporting experience built on the Technology Intelligence (TI) Platform. Data Explorer enables users to ask questions about their inventory data in plain English and instantly receive tabular reports dramatically reducing the time from question to decision.

Flexera users can now move from “What do I need to know?” to “What should I do next?” in seconds, without having to learn complex data schemas or navigate through a plethora of UI pages and BI report views or learning schemas.

    What’s New

Data Explorer introduces a single conversational entry point for exploring TI inventory data:

    • Ask questions in natural language (e.g., “Show devices nearing end of support in next 30 days”).
    • Instantly generate tabular reports with the most relevant columns.
    • Add columns or refine your prompt to add more details to the reports
    • Export the results to a CSV file.
    • Save and reuse reports so teams stay aligned on a single source of truth always.
    • Prebuilt starter templates help users quickly begin exploring their data without needing to know the right question upfront.

    Before Scenarios:

    • Practitioners relied on custom BI reports or executable scripts with GraphQL queries that answered their routine operational questions.
    • Answering simple data queries required deep schema knowledge, frequent context switching, and manual exports.
    • Teams debated data accuracy due to multiple versions of reports across tools.
    • Power BI dashboards optimized for aggregated analytics fell short for row-level filtering and large-scale exports (beyond 150,000 rows for download) needed for operational decisions.

    After Scenarios:

    • A single interface to explore TI inventory data.
    • Plain-English questions return action-ready tables, with extensive flexibility to connect data across the Unified Object Model meeting customer needs regardless of the use case.
    • Everyone works from the same saved view, reducing confusion and rework.
    • Starter templates provide guided entry points for common use cases, helping users get immediate results, build confidence, and move quickly from exploration to action.
