    • Just to add to what @Max_Schoenhuber has explained, my understanding is that the cutoff would be bound to the amount of metering data you keep (see the settings in your Snow Console on the SLM server).

I can't prove it, but the figures we have seem to indicate that this is the case.

  2. Look up all computers that don't have a certain application.

    Hello,

This is quite possibly an easy task in Snow License Manager.

I know it is possible to look up all computers that have a specific application, but is it possible to look up all computers that DON'T have that application?

I have been messing with the filters, but can't seem to create this list/report. Quite new to Snow, so any suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks.

    • I think the report Computers missing specified application should help you. In Report criteria you can add the filter "Application Missing"

  3. App not complian in App Family but each App is compliant by itself
Hi, currently I am checking Microsoft Office for compliance. Within the application family 'Microsoft Office' the graph for older versions shows an incompatibility of 50 % missing licenses. In this case only one license is missing. Fortunatelly there are only two older application installations.  Having a closer look which application is not compliant I see we've got one Office Professional 2000 and one installation Office 2003 Professional I haven't found any possibility to see which application is not covered. Question 1 : How am I able to see which application is not compliant when I have a look to the red bar in the summary graph? We've got several Office 2010 licenses when can downgrade to Office 2003: Having a look to each application gives me the following compliance for each applciation. Compliance recalculation have been done already. We've got some old Microsoft Office 2000 Professional licenses which are fine: The one Microsoft Office 2003 installation is also licensed well by getting one dowgraded license (from 2010): This seems to work well, too. Ich can see one Microsoft Office 2010 license has been downgraded to an older version: Consequently only Office 2000 and 2003 are installed therefore the bar schould be green allover! Question 2 : Is there a possibility to see the target version which has received the downgraded licenses? Question 3 : Why does the bar show an uncompliance red part? Thank you for your help. Regards Tim

    • Hi Tim, I think the report "License tracking per computer " can help you. That's my absolute favorite report, to check and validate the compliance calculation. In your case you first should create report criteria for application name like Microsoft Office%Professional% When you see the report result, then you can for example add the columns: Licensed Application, License ID and Total compliance. Then you can find if the installations are covered, and when they are covered what application (and licenseid) was used.   Hope that will also help you

  4. EE asked a question.

    Application Compliance Per Computer Report

Is there a way of generating a report like the Applications per Computer but with the option to add a column for compliance for the computer.  Under the individual computer records you can see if the application installed is covered or not. But I can't how to extract this for all computers.

Basically, I'd like to see installations covered by licenses and which are not on each computer, I want to group the applications, and then target the owners of those computers to have their non-compliant applications removed.

At the moment all I can see is to run the Applications per Computer, and a Compliance Summary, but this will not show me which computers are covered and which are not.

  6. Application inventory not working

    hi guys,

We're running version 8.3 revision 07 build 6968, I'm having issues with application inventory on new devices, essentially the snow agent is regularly checking in and inventorying all sections except for applications, here's an example, all tabs are present with data except applications: any ideas? All agents are running the same version.

    • Hi Alex, Has that always been like that or did it stop working at some point? Can you check in your Inventory SMACC that you get something listed under a device's "Software>Installed applications" If nothing is listed, can you check what the config file contains in term of settings for the software scan?

  7. Applications on 'not installed or used' in snow but are installed on our estate.

    Good afternoon!

I'm finding increasingly often lately, that there are applications that aren't being picked up snow but we do have them installed for definitely.

In some cases, I can see the program file from where they were picked up before but the installation count has gone back to 0 despite the software being installed across multiple devices.

Does anyone have any idea as to why this would be so?

Have sent an inventory report to snow support but yet to receive a response.

    Thank you!

    Gemma

    • If I'm not mistaken it sounds like you have two issues: one being the applications not being recognized at all and second being some were recognized at one point but aren't now. For the first issue there is a form (Excel template) to fill out with information about the application and installation details. Open a support ticket and attach the form. We have done this a few times recently with success. The other issue will require support I imagine and yes they are sometimes very slow to respond.

  8. Computer with 2 specified apps installed - report conditions?

    Hi,

I need a report that shows all computers that has 2 specified applications installed (on the same computer), in this case Java and SPSS.  I am able to get a report on two applications but it shows all computers that have 1 (or both) of the specified apps installed. I only want to see which computers that have both applications.

Hope you get my question right :-)

    Regards,

    • Perhaps this  may help you ‌ If you want to see only computers that have installed several specific applications,  then you can use the filter criteria Installed application.  Hope that will help Carola
