Does anyone know how to create a SLM report which shows which MS SQL service pack is installed on a computer having MS SQL installed?

This information is available in Inventory but we would like to have it available in a SLM report which we can schedule.

The same question we have for Windows server service packs. The SLM report 'Operating systems' show these but as soon as you select the list of computers for a specific service pack it shows ALL the computers running that OS but not just the ones with that particular service pack?!

    • No unfortunately not. I used Inventory for this where I created a view and filter like:

SQL SP view columns SQL SP view filterAnd then I exported this information to .xlsx:

SQL SP export as xlsxBut this is a manual operation while a SLM report I should be able to schedule.

      • That actually gives me something to work on, pretty sure I know where that's being pulled from - I'll have a look and see if I can write something up for you.

  • Hey @Gert-Jan Kosterman,

I'm assuming this is going into a single tenant platform so there's no multi-customer checks, so it'll pull all or nothing. Also worth noting that this takes quite a long time to come back, so it may be the case that if it's added as a Custom Report in the front end it'll just fail, but that could be because of the size of my demo environment and the insane amount of data in it.

    Service Pack SQL Report (github.com)

When running this it comes back with Service Pack 2 for SQL Server 2012 (KB2958429) etc. As far as I can tell, the (64-bit) is added in by Snow, which you can modify the script to do if you want that as well

If you can run that and make sure it's what you want, I can put it into the Custom Report format for you to put into the front end

    • Hi @Laim McKenzie

Great, thanks for your support in this.

And yes it's for a single tenant. So I did ran the query and it looks good. It just takes seconds to run, we don't have that big environment 😉

I'm not sure what you mean with the 64-bit remark. Since that's shown in the query output already. E.g:

      64bit sql sp

So I guess the query is Ok already? Would be great if you could build a Custom Report for it!

      thanks again,

      Gert-Jan.
