Snow Upgrade Path
We've been neglecting Snow installation and are really behind on versions (2 years, unfortunately) According to the Snow Update Service, there are updates available for Snow Inventory, Snow License Manager Enterprise Edition, and Snow MACC.
My question is, for Inventory and License manager, can we just go straight to the latest version? Or since we are so far behind, would we need to jump to something more recent before we go all the way to the latest version?

Check the release notes as some versions of SLM require a base version of Inventory first.
But in a general rule if you are going direct to the latest versions on all products you can do as long as they all complete before you run your next Data Update Job (nightly or manually)
Worth noting that you can't go directly from 9.3.4 to 9.30.0 (for instance), you have to update through each incremental version first. This applies to the Inventory as well.

Nope, there are dependencies, but the SUS wÃll point you to these and interrupt the updates if required.

You can and that's not too bad.
You definitely want to upgrade the inventory application first then the SLM application. There are some versions of SLM that require you to have a certain version of Inventory before you can upgrade. So take the INV to at least 6.8.3 first if you want to go to SLM 9.29. That will allow you to upgrade without having to go back and forth.
If you have a SIM you may want to upgrade that as well.
also make sure you have extra space on your SQL drives to do these upgrades.
