BrunoSonda asked a question.
Hi team. Earlier this month SLM started to show a non-compliance of licenses for Microsoft SQL Server System CLR Types. Does anyone know if there was any update on Snow and if this software really neesd a license to use it? Thank you for your help.
hey bmbentim,
please have a look here Question Detail (snowsoftware.com)
Hi,
I created a ticket for DIS team.
It took some time, and DIS team internally contacted their Licensing team.
Meanwhile this issue is solved. SLM do not show the CLR Types as "license required" anymore
Hi,
if only the application "SQL Server System CLR Types" is installed and no other features/services are installed that are SQL Server Standard or Enterprise features/services, then this service is free of charge (can be covered by SQL Server Express free of charge)
The info about SQL Server System CLR Types can be found in the attached link under Programmability (Or search for CLR)

Hi,

Just adding my piece of my experience I had with this particular application :-)
In the past (2021) I raised this matter at DIS team too. Back then it was confirmed CLR types should not have a 'license required' flag. As such, it has been corrected as such. Ever since then, I observe indeed that matter is cleared. Meaning the software is shown as no license required.
