How to assign VMware Vsphere Advanced for Retail and Branch Offices licenses ?

Does anybody have experience in assigning VMWare vSphere ROBO licenses and do have a hint how to assign that.

With these licenses the number of virtual machines on a host are counted for license requirement. One license pack includes 25 virtual machines.

In SLM I can see the installed application and requirement only for the host. But there is no way to set the correct license metric

How can this be handled, except using Custom compare values?

    Hi Carola,

    I hope all is well.

With the VMware Vsphere ROBO licenses, you will need to set the metric to the processor as this is the appropriate metric to use for the application. The difference here is your license governs how many VMs (capacity) you can run on the esx host so when you Assign the processor licenses to the host, you can also configure the number of VM's limit in the assignment tab using the VM use rights option, and set that to 25 in this case.

I have added a screenshot to help explain.

I don't have a test environment that has this edition of the esx server so can't see the end result but if you give this a try and let me know if it works for you. otherwise please DM me so we can have a look in context.
