Custom Report View

Hi Folks,

 

Hope you are doing well.

 

I have doubt on custom reports. Is it possible to create views under reports section?

 

I want to segregate the report view as below

 

  1. EoL Reports: Here I can find all EoL customized reports with additional custom details.
  2. EUS Reports.
  3. Discovered Assets that are not Inventoried Reports (created separate report for EUS, WindowsServers and LinuxServers).
  4. Custom Reports: We can find rest of all custom reports under this section.

 

Could you please clarify on above request.

  • I think what you are referring to is Grouping reports.

     

    To do this with a standard report you can simply run it to show some data, go to the 3 ... in the top right ans save the report. when saving it you can enter a Group Name.

     

    If this group already exists it'll add it to that group. If not it'll create the Group for you and place you saved, customised report in there.

      Yes, I want to create groups and store respective reports under that groups. I have created some custom reports using SQL query but those reports stored under only one group, i.e., Custom Report. So, is it possible to group those custom reports using SQL query?

      • I don't think you can group them following the process to create visible, custom reports in SLM via the SQL side of things.

        But i would say you should be able, once you see those reports in SLM simple run the report, re-save it and then add the new Group Name in then.

        SLM will then create the new group name and assign that report to it for you.

        I have tried this option and created new group. Thanks for explanation. It is customer requirement to create group and save report separately. But, it is not allowing me to share those groups with customer.

         

        We can share other reports with other SLM users but I can't see share report option available for custom reports. Do we have alternate way to publish the same grouping to other SLM users?
