From what I can see, anyone can delete anything from the Inventory, or enable anything, and there is no log of it whatsoever...

  • sorry, I can't think of anywhere else it would log it... there's nothing in the admin consile itself... i guess the idea is that SLM controls all this so it's audited from there... might be worth a new snow idea for this functionality to be added??

    • That's my assumption too, just a bit annoying because there are some features in the inventory that should be logged in my assumption, such as device deletions, new users and if ad/nd is enabled

  • Nothing is logged in terms of actionlog within SIS. I've scoured the DB and could not find anything so I suspect it does not exist. As always... submit an IDEA to the board. lol

  • An candidate for the Ideas Board?

If you add that, I would definitely vote it up :)

  • Hi Laim

Wondering if this out of SIS user guide would help? Wondering if any of the tags would record this info??

7.12 CONFIGURE LOGGING Snow Inventory writes log files that are found in the log files location. The maximum number of log files is five. The Snow Inventory configuration file can be configured to modify default logging. The parameter must be added to the Snow Inventory configuration file together with preferred tags. If a tag is added, logging will be recorded for that tag. The following code will enable logging for all tags: * For troubleshooting purposes, it is advised to only include tags that you would like to see logging for. To see all available tags, follow these steps when you are signed in to the Windows server that hosts Snow Inventory: 1. Start Command Prompt 2. Enter snowserver.exe lt 3. Press Enter

    • Will have a look, IDEA has been raised but waiting for it to be approved - seems like such a weird thing to not include by default!
