Search for Computers - Internal Server Error
Hey Community,
Have any of you seen this issue?
We're seeing this on some of our platforms since updating to 9.7.0, before this version we weren't having this issue. The servers meet system requirements (Some of them are even massively over the system requirements), and there's no network issues either.
Yes, we have also had problems with Computer Searching since 9.7 ... but we have 9.7.1 in TST and it has been fixed. So hopefully this fix is coming some time soon.
For us, the problem with Computer Searching is worse with the first few users of the day (it's painfully slow most of the time as well). The first few people to search for computers in the morning seem to get the error messages more frequently.

You are right David, it was fixed in 9.7.1, so once 9.7.2 comes out it will address this. However, knowing how critical the search for computers is, it may be worth reaching out to your support contacts to address with a hotfix.
That's good to know, a hotfix would be amazing, because we were really keen to get 9.7.1 installed as soon as possible to fix this. Thanks @Nathan Stevens
Does this happen every time when you search for computers?
One of my customers a similar issue (it actually is a timeout) only, when searching for a manufacturer. Showing the unfiltered list (~ 13.000 computers) works fine. They are on 9.7.0 as well.
there is a fix for this - call support and they should be able to fix the SQL script that is causing this.... in trying to ensure duplicates weren't displayed they invoked a costly SQL script which causes this timeout error...
Oh, my customer is in contact with support for weeks now, will doublecheck with him.
Thanks for the advice, @Adam Davies
Thanks all! I'll reach out to Support and see if we can get a hot fix for our SPE(s).
