Archiving via SQL

Archiving via SQL

Hey

Has anyone had any experience archiving devices via SQL? I have deletion scripts I've created, but I've never worked with the archiving procedures in Snow so not even sure where to start.

We need to archive 1.2k devices, but the page just says checking assignments then reloads.

Hey Laim, I too have this same process which I do each week. It involves archiving nearly 3k devices. I can't help with the SQL question but if you run the archives in SLM the page will reload after it has 'timed out'. It will complete archives during that time. When I reload the page it might have done 500-1000 and have another 2500-2000 left.

Hi Laim, there is a StoredProcedure called "ComputerArchive", but it seems to expect all data to be archived as parameter. That's why i add a custom attribute to computers and then use SLM Gui to Archive or Delete Systems. Depending on your version there may be still a restriction how many computer can be selected and archived once. Hope that helps Sebastian

  Hey, Yeah that's what I found, Tried to archive 50 with the custom field option which we use for other customers and it just times out Thanks Laim
