Core Infrastructure Server Suite license updation in snow

Hello all i have added license Microsoft Core Infrastructure Server Suite Standard in SLM Quantity 100 this product includes Window Server and System center. The issue with this is that i am facing difficulty in assigning windows server licenses as it does not recognize them properly for licensing. Should i split the licenses for CIS under Windows Server Standard and SCCM and insert 100 license separately for these applications?

  • Hi ‌, Snow folk, or the community at large, correct me if I am wrong but I believe that Snow License Manager has never resulted in an accurate compliance picture within Snow License Manager when using the application "Core Infrastructure Server (CIS) Suite" for License entry, for any component within it.  i.e Windows; Configuration Manager (and other System Centre components).  I believe it was to be only treated like a container, and the best practice was to enter component licenses separately.    Is this not the case?? ‌ and can you comment, please? I'm keen to hear others' experiences in attempts to record the suite application vs components. Kind Regards Shaz

Hi Kiran, Have you tried selecting Cross Edition rights? It falls within a different edition group so you may need to select this, plus downgrade rights first. It may be worth explaining what you mean by not recognizing them properly. Are you getting a "no eligible application" note appear?  You could absolutely split these licenses if you are having issues with it, and that will resolve the problem. However, it would be good to work out the reason why it isn't working.  If you are trying to stack licenses, the issue could be related to VM use rights.  Thanks Kelly

    • Kelly i have selected Cross edition for this product and downgrade rights. I have inserted CIS licenses but it is not allocating licenses to Windows server and SCCM properly. As work around i have split licenses into windows server and sccm to get proper compliance till time being if i can fix this issue.
