Left Over Applications

Morning Snow people,

I've seen this asked before, where an application with no users, no installations, no recorded usage in the metering period or licenses are attached - still shows up in Snow in the applications list.

My question is, if any custom information has been added against an application such as a custom field, would this be enough to prevent it from dropping out of SLM?

Also worth noting that the application isn't part of a bundle either.

Thanks.

  • Hi Craig, I also have this question. We have two Custom Fields for applications which we populate periodically. Looking at the data this morning there are 1265 (out of 9867) applications which have no installations reported. However of those there are 20 where we have not set a value in either of the two Custom Fields. There's quite a bit of turnover within the estate so I wonder if these applications are effectively "quarantined" in that there were installations but now there are not and Snow is waiting for a period before dropping them from reports. Regards, Nick.

    • PS: I've opened a case with Snow on this... Regards, Nick.
  • That's right. If an application has "data" inserted by you like custom fields, prices, licenses attached, etc. it wont be unlisted from "list all apps" or "search for applications". You can add a criteria to show only used/installed apps within Search for Applications if needed. Hope the above helps.
