Application not showing in SLM
I have an application Microsoft System CLR types for SQL server 2012 installed in many machines but it will not show up in SLM. I have created a filter in snow inventory on the server to check all application names, software path name, software version and can see that CLR is captured by the agent but does not show up in SLM (refer attached image). Can anyone help me how I can capture this application and show up in SLM. Also if inventory server is showing software path for application in that system so is it capturing these details in snow inventory?

  • Hi Kiran, The application should show in SLM if 1) it is detected on a computer or if 2) you have licenses assigned to it. The Inventory Report you show does not necessarily imply that the application match a rule from the Snow recognition service. It appears that the (probably) registry entry showing in your inventory report does not appear to match any of the application pattern rules for the application as defined in the SMACC (check the application named: "Microsoft SQL Server System CLR Types 2012"). If nothing on the clients match any rule an application is defined by, then the application will not be detected and will not show in SLM. Alternatively, you can force the application to show in SLM if you select this setting in your search:

    • Thanks Samuel for your reply please note that this application is installed in our environment and we can see that it is showing up in Add/Remove program as well. I want to capture this application so want to understand if i can create rule under new application and provide installation path? I have never used New application rule in SMACC so want some suggestion on effectively capture this application we are currently using old inventory server 3.2 in our environment.

      • Hi Kiran, The easiest way to create a new detected application is to create it in your SMACC (see the SMACC User Guide) and then create a rule from an item in the unassigned applications pane: Then you can adjust your settings in the rule
