Computer Information-Update Interval - Inventory -> SLM

Hi there,

i was wondering if there is a specific interval how often computer information specific updates get pushed from the Snow Inventory to the SLM? (i.E. Last Scanned Date)

Our Data Update Job runs daily and the Devices get picked up by our Inventory daily as well (shows in the Last Scanned Date in Inventory). Yet when i check in the SLM, sometimes the Last scanned date for the same computer/machine is from around 5 days ago.

Is there a specific reason or configuration for that?

Running SLM 8.3 & Inventory 5.4

Best Regards

Marcel

    Hi Marcel, The Snow Inventory Agent for Windows can be configured to run on a daily, weekly, or monthly   basis or at system start-up. Configuration of the schedule is done via the Snow Inventory Admin   Console.   Before a scheduled scan starts, the agent checks when the last scan was performed. If it was run   the same day, no new scan will be performed. This means that a scheduled scan will never be   performed more frequently than once a day. This check is not done when a scan is run from the   command line. Hope this helps Jan

    • Hello Jan, thanks for the quick response! I think i probably made myself pretty unclear - sorry for that. The scans of our Snow Agents run daily (usually at a system start-up). Those scans also show up in the inventory without any issues with the correct scan dates. Our Problem is that in the Snow License Manager, those scan dates are usually 3-4 days behind. For example: Last Scanned Date  Inventory               |        Snow License Manager 14. Feb 2019           |      10. Feb 2019 The Data Update Jobs runs daily at night as well. Hope i this one is a little bit more clear Thanks!

        Good afternoon Marcel, I think it would be interesting to look at the content of the snowpack files, to see if the date is correct there and only wrongly analyzed during the DUJ, or if it is wrongly collected during the agent scan. I would suggest to contact our Support team ( here's the direct link ), providing not only the versions of SLM/INV/Agent in use, but also one of those Snowpack files (How to gather one:   ) and informing them if this happens for all the computers or only some of them. Please do not hesitate to contact us again for further information. Best regards Ester Memoli Customer Success Manager EMEA Snow Software srl - Milano - Italia Welcome to Snow! Discover more here:
