SMACC IP Range

Hi

I had an IP range 192.168.105.x which was associated with organisation 1.  I removed this in SMACC and added it to organisation 2.  Smacc tells me that there is a conflict as it's in use elsewhere this would be organisation 1 guess..

Will the data update job tonight read SMACC and automatically move 192.168.105.x assets to organisation 2 clearing this conflict it showed earlier?.  Or could there be an issue elsewhere :s

Thanks in advance

Ammar

Hello Ammar, As these are placed into a table within the Snow License Manager database and these rules are triggered only during a data update, I would agree with your understanding. I suspect that this would be the case where the 'conflict' message is shown when a previous competing Auto Connect Rule is present, prior to the data update job being run.  The great news is this is very simple to test. Remove the existing rule, or replace with a new rule on the existing Organisation 1. Allow the data update job to complete (moving the existing machines from from Organisation 1 to the Root OU. You can then apply the new rule to Organisation 1 and validate this understanding - If this doesn't work and you are confident the message doesn't represent a true 'conflict', you can revert the above and log this as a support item, as this would suggest that the product may not be working. I hope this helps.  Thanks, Antony
