Hi Florian, SQL Server is nothing, Microsoft is giving away for free. There are some different cases, let me point them out here. If you are in the position, that Siemens offered you a SQL Server, as part of the ISV Royalty Program, than you should be owner of some licensing documents, describing exactly what you have. Add the license into the Snow System and assign it to the specific machine. In most cases they have very specific use terms, you should be aware of. If you don't find this documents, you are probably one of the Customers, where somebody needed a SQL Server and installed it right away. That could be a bit expensive, in case of an audit. If it is a express edition, or a runtime, you should be fine. Best Oliver

    • Hi Oliver, for example Siemens WinCC Professional (currently not covered by SRS/DIS in catalog) comes always with Microsoft SQL Server Standard - very probably via ISV Royalty Program you mentioned. My first thought was to create a bundle including SQL Server. You recomment to record seperate licenses for SQL Server.  Maybe this would be the better solution. Thx Florian

Hi Florian, that's correct. Don't forget to link the licenses in the notes field somehow. Depending on your organisation and quantities, you should think of creating an agreement node for the ISV licenses somewhere in SLM. So you could identify them quickly. Best Oliver

Hi Florian & Oli, the linking between two licenses (or two other objects in general) can easily be done by adding a link in the documents section. Go to the to-be-linked object and copy the url. You will see, that it contains a unique ID Go to the object, where you want to place the link. Go to Edit license , switch to Documents . Enter a new "document" and select Link . Enter the URL and your preferred info. Save the object. You can then go to the license's Documents tab and simply click on the download icon. You will then be redirected to the linked object. This works across all objects in Snow License Manager . /marcel
