SMACC Access on Endpoints
Hi All, We have deployed SMACC on laptops with Plugins of Inventory & Snow License Manager. We are able to launch SMACC in case no plugins are deployed. But with plugins we are observing the below error message and SMACC is not launching: 2018-12-11 14:56:06 DEBUG SnowSoftware.Program:Main - SnowMACC starting..   2018-12-11 14:56:06 ERROR SnowSoftware.Program:Main - System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'InventoryAdmin.Plugin, Version=1.1.0.127, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=' or one of its dependencies. • Hi Sam, I have seen a local SMACC installation once and this one stopped working with an update. As this scenario is not supported, my advice to customers is to refrain from installing the SMACC elsewhere than on the SLM server. As SMACC uses database connections, I also can't see any real benefit in installing it locally, as the server will have the better connection to the database. So, basically, my assumption is: your deployment, your call. Kind regards, Axel

    • Hi Axel, We need to give access to SMACC to few team members but we would not be giving the server access to team members. That's why we are trying to have SMACC installed locally.

Hi, you can copy SMACC after the automatic updates via SUS from the backend server, e. g. SLM. This most likely will solve your situation. As Axel stated: your deployment, your call. No support today from Snow.
      • Hi Sam,   the SMACC uses a couple of XML files to point out the plugins for inventory server and license manager.  You will find them in this location C:\ProgramData\SnowSoftware\SnowMACC\RegisteredPlugins\ You might need to copy these to the client computer and possibly edit the path in them to fit your new installation location.  As others have said,  the SUS will not update local SMACC installations, so there will be some manual job every time the SMACC needs an update on these machines.
