Import OEM License

In SLM 7 I imported OEM licenses in bulk from a CSV by setting 'License Type' as NAMEDCOPMUTER and there was a field 'Named computer' where I entered obviously the computer's name.

Now that changed - I see that 'License Type should be Computer/Datacenter but what with the computer assignment?

Hi ‌ In SLM8 you can add the assignments for licenses in bulk using the License assignment Import, using the template provided: For guidance on what information is required, please see pages 28-29 of the Import Tool Field Description User Guide, which can be found under Help:

Hi Adam, See, now I've created OEM licenses slightly differently. For example, Windows OS that's OEM I've just done a 'Site License' that covers all my domains (all the base licenses come with kit anyway). For very specific scientific software, I've allocated site licenses to specific teams. Would that work for you? Best, David

  For TeamViewer or something like that I use the Site License option too, but not for OEM.

    Ah fair enough. Might be worth trying for licenses that you don't really own (such as OEM) so it doesn't impact your compliance figures. The OEM that comes with some of our telescopes, co2 emissions software etc is only used by certain groups, so I just assign a site license to said groups so I don't have to worry about it. Then if someone outside of the group has it installed, we can investigate why as they shouldn't have access to the equipment. Best, David
