web service conditional install

I have a web service that needs to be installed conditionally in my installer. Is there a way to do this?

In most instances of my install, it's not needed, and infact throws an error when it's installed because the host box doesn't have IIS installed. Is there a way to stop it from being installed?

What type of install project are you using, InstallScript or MSI?

Each virtual dir is associated with a component. You can put a condition on the component to determine whether the virtual dir is created or not. Look on the General tab of the Virtual Directory properties to see what component its associated with.
