Hi
Here comes a few questions to get things started :)
how to monitor like consumption licenses like storage and dataverse?
Any best practises in how to handle subscriptions where no consumption is showing up like workload identities? if not what are the best practise in that they should not show up as savings potential
How would be the best way to monitor Microsoft365 in 21Vianet? Currently we do it through the beta connector in old FSM
A: Consumption license like storage and dataverse are currently not supported fully in Flexera One SaaS Management. This work is ongoing and we will share the possible release data soon.
Question 2: There is an increase in D365 and Power Apps platform licenses and the customer want to track the user activity for these applications that includes the usage based on different modules like Finance, supply chain, sales, marketing and others for license reclamation and optimization. But this cannot be achieved as this data doesnt come from M365 Portal.
A: This capability is currently in our product backlog but we have not added this in our roadmap yet. We plan to provide a D365 connector which can bring in users, subcription and application usage data into FOSM. Regarding module based separation, this highly depends on the API whether this data is available or not.
Question 3: How are true-downs or license reductions properly managed in the Microsoft 365 License Data in Flexera One SaaS Manager?
A:The Microsoft 365 connector / integration in FOSM ingests the purchased quantity (as a summary total number) for each subscription from the Microsoft portal. Any new subscriptions or changes in subscription purchased quantity will be reflected automatically during the next import (which are usually scheduled daily).
To determine opportunities to optimize Microsoft 365 licenses - the insights tab in the subscriptions provides details of the users who have no recorded usage, who have not used in the defined usage period (30 day default) and subscriptions which are not assigned to users (spare/unassigned). If relevant other insights can also show, such as where users who have not used certain components products and could be downgraded from one license to another (e.g. 365 E5 to 365 E3) or where users are assigned to subscriptions but where those users are disabled in Entra ID.

Hello, I should have specified that this is about purchase licensed quantities, for example, if a company had purchased 1000 of a license, but since reduced the number to 800, how that changed should be managed in the SaaS purchases.
Question 4: Can you introduce the option to link M365 licenses to specific Global Groups in AD? Similar to the ITAM ability to assign a license based on a report created from a Global Group. An operator will require an exception report within the Flexera One UI with the list of accounts that are not Group members.
A: Currently there is no possibility to link M365 licenses to specific Global Groups in AD. We do not surface this information in the UI. I will add this to the backlog as an enhancement request.
Question 5: SaaS Management should be improved to surface visibility of overlapping subscriptions through a report or dashboard. That is, identify accounts that are assigned licenses that cover the same product such as Planner and Project Plan 3 and Plan 5, M365 E3/5/7 and Exchange Online Plan 1/2, etc.
A: Thank you for your feedback. I will add this to the backlog.
Question 6: Will CoPilot usage data be available, e.g using CoPilot in Word, or Teams. This helps with making sure the right CoPilot licenses are purchased.
A:Currently we do not have this capability. Thanks for the question. I will add this to the backlog.
Question 7: We have integrated Microsoft 365 (M365) with SaaS Manager (Flexera One), but we are still seeing a significant number of M365-related applications listed under ITAM Unlicensed Applications. I would like to map these to the correct M365 SaaS applications. How should we manage or map applications discovered on VMs or on devices without user assignments?
For Unlicensed Applications - if you mean the Unlicensed Installation report, this would be a software installation that could not be covered for by existing license rules. This could be due to license metric, restrictions, etc. could not cover the installation and should be removed.
If the Application itself isn't covered (but should be due to downgrade rights or bundling for instance), please review the license to ensure it is configured. If the application does not appear to be correctly tied per standard Product Use Rights, please submit a Case for support with the supporting information for our Content Team to review.
For covering User based licenses on VMs or Devices without User Assignments, please use the Assigned User field to assign the appropriate user for the device. When considering License Calculations for users, this field is considered first, followed by Calculated and Last Logged In user.
