jon.strong@vumc.org asked a question.
We have a device that shows in ITV with a last inventory date of 2022 and a source of SMS. It does not show at all in ITAM. I thought I read that ITV only looks at ITAM Inventory and status of Active or Ignored, and that Ignored will clean-up the device in ITV. To keep a record of the device, we created both an Asset and an Inventory Device and linked them. Then the Asset was marked Retired, which caused the Inventory Device to have the desired status of 'Ignored'. A day later, both the ITAM Asset and Inventory device are gone, but it still shows in ITV.
2 Questions:
What affect does an item marked Obsolete in SCCM have on an Asset and Inventory item in ITAM?
How can we cleanup the obsolete item in ITV?
Thanks -Jon
I can answer the question about ITAM: When a computer is marked as obsolete (or deleted) in SCCM, the corresponding inventory device record in ITAM will generally be deleted (or archived, if the device contributed to IBM subcapacity license consumption).
I'm not sure about the ITV side of things sorry.

It would normally be deleted from ITV as well if SCCM is the only data source for it.
If it's still there you will have to open a case with Flexera Support and request it to be deleted.
Thanks,
