Is it possible to update an agent on a machine remotely, for example through the GUI? Click a button so that the agent on a machine is updated to the most recent version?

The agent does (within limits) support self-upgrade. This process is not managed on a per-machine basis, but per platform. Please have a look at the documentation:

You can create a target, add the computer for the upgrade in the target, then you can upgrade only the specific target or targets.
