Hi, We are encountering issues when assigning devices with a user created role and I wondered if it was a bug that needed reporting.
We have recently added 3 new roles as follows.
Hot Standby / Active Failover - Prod
Hot Standby / Active Failover - Non Prod
Hot Standby / Active Failover - Retired
It seems that all the devices tagged with one of these roles will only consume a licence if it's allocated. We switched the role to Hot Standby / Active Failover and it started to consume 5 extra licences (various metrics) automatically which is correct.
I wondered if there could be a bug caused by the - ?
None of the licences that are now consuming automatically have use rights preventing them from consuming based on role.
Has anyone else had the same issue?

This is just a guess, but can you check the ComplianceComputerRole table?
I wonder if your custom roles have set the ManageLicenses attribute.
