Seeing "tried to renew an expired or non-existent lease" being logged in Snow Inventory server. What does it mean ?

I am seeing a lot of logging of the following in the Snow Inventory server logs...

2023-04-18T09:02:26+01:00;tracking;;;;Agent with AssignedId=KYy7UrlYFy1 tried to renew an expired or non-existent lease

It is the same AssignedId (KYy7UrlYFy1) and is happening thousands of times a day. I tried reviewing the database to see if I could determine what this relates to but the AssignedId must be encrypted as the AssignedId in SnowInventory DB is a bigint.

Someone asked the question before but there was no meaningful response. Anyone shed any light on what it is and how to fix it?

Thanks

P.S. Platform is Snow Inventory v6.8.3

    Hi Colin,

that looks like a expired certificate message and based on the number of errors, it is being triggered when the agent reaches out for a 'hello'. I recommend you log a call with the ServiceDesk and get them to triage where the error originates.

  • I know this is an old query, I was wondering if you had any response or resolution to it? I have had this error coming through for ages and clogging up the inventory server logs.

    • Yeah still see them in the logs, not a huge amount but still there and no idea the cause.

      • thanks for the reply, yeah, the only doc I can see references expired ssl cert, but that can't be the Inventory Server cert, so not much use there :)
