Installation of Firefox extension for Cloud Application Metering

Hello,

We would like to install the Firefox extension for Cloud Application Metering via our software distribution.

To do this, we have tried to copy the extension or the file FFCloudmetering.xpi into the Firefox "extension" directory and rename it to cloudmetering@snowsoftware.com.xpi (because this is necessary for the installation of an extension).

The extension was then installed, but is deactivated.

Does anyone have experience with the automated installation of the extension via a software distribution?

Do you have any hints / tips ?

Best regards

Achim

  • Yes, this will be done by the Windows agent if you enable this in the snowagent.config and on the Inventory server.

    • Hello Gert-Jan,

we already configured the Inventory server and we know, that we can enable the feature via the "saas.firefox.enabled" value="true" in the snowagent.config. That was working.

But we want to install the browser extension separately via our software distribution and only change the snowagent.config with "saas.firefox.enabled" value="enable" .

      That doesn't work correctly.

We are able to install extensions from other vendors successfully, but not the Snow extension!

It is not clear to us why this does not work with the Snow extension and perhaps there are other things to consider. The Snow documentation is once again very poor.
