How do you gather meaningful software hash data?
I am pulling the software hash from the Snow database for an audit. Has anybody out there done this before and what do you get for results? When I query the database I get multiple hashes for same executable on the asset.
What's up with that? If this is normal, what software hash do you provide an auditor or do you provide all of them?

If you are talking about the software checksum, then you might find this thread to be useful. As Colin mentions, there's an article here which describes how the checksum is calculated. Since it's not just the hash of the file that might explain your issue.
I actually have an idea on the ideas board here asking if the Snow Agent could have the option to report back the file hash. That might be what you're looking for.
