Should I replace spaces with underscores in the organisationstructure?

In the Organisation Structure in the SMAC I see names with underscores and with spaces. See screenshot.

I match those with auto connect rules to the organisation of an user ( so according to primary user).

And I dont have underscores in the names of the organisation of the users.

I never had problems , that I know off. But do I have to replace spaces with underscores?

Or can I just use the spaces? I'm not sure why / how I got underscores in the names.

Maybe we did that during installation of the SMAC / Organisations structure, but I dont remember.

    Hi Luuk,

I believe there was a version where the import of Organization Units(OU) required you to use an underscore. however when creating an OU directly in Snow Management and Configuration Center (Snow MaCC) it doesn't require them. that may be the reason for some with an underscore and some with out.

Do you currently use the import of the OU against a user? if so is that working for both OU's with underscores and without?

    Met vriendelijke groet,

    Jelle

  • Thank you for the info.

That might be it. At installation I think we did it once via import. But after that it has all been added / updated manually via SMAC.

So I don't have to do anything with the spaces / underscores. I can leave it as it is?

That is the reason why I asked the question about importing. If you are importing and it works for both OUs with underscore as well as without then yes keep them as they are.
