JoannaJankowska asked a question.
How to limit/reduce cpu use by snow agent scan for Windows ?
Snowagent scan consumes a lot of CPU. How to limit or reduse CPU condumption by snowagent scan, that it does not consume more than 7% of CPU ?

My experience is quiet the opposite: Snow Agent for Windows is causing no performance issues at all.
By default, the priority of the process ist set to "below normal".
Even customers of mine that did research on the Snow Inventory Agent came back to me saying "you don't even notice that it is running".
So I am just curious where your statement comes from that the Agent consumes a lot of CPU.
On Linux it is true, but on Windows Snow Agent can consumes a lot of more CPU.
I wonder how to reduce consumption CPU by Snow Agent, but not in Windows settings only in the agent.
Hi Joanna,
as Axel mentioned, normaly you don't notice that the Agent runs!
I would say that is negligible.
if you have other values (much higher) please contact the support!
BTW: What version of Snow Agent and OS are in use?
It is Windows Server 2016 and Agent version 6.8.1
Hi again,
please try a newer agent 6.8.2 or 6.9.0
Release Notes: Snow Inventory Agent for Windows 6.8.2 (snowsoftware.com)
Release Notes: Snow Inventory Agent for Windows 6.9.0 (snowsoftware.com)
which function have your Server?
Which Powershell version is running?
It would be interesting to know what 'high cpu' translates to in numbers as well, and if it's during the scan or constant. :-)
Could be the configuration file has gone weird and it's scanning everything including %WINDIR%, I've seen that previously
did you get this resolved @Joanna Jankowska ?
