How can I make sure when pressing "Search" button in the Assignment tab in the SQL Server Enterprise license the datacenter cluster I want to assign the license to shows up ?
I want to assign SQL server enterprise core licenses to a datacenter cluster. Unfortunately the datacenter I want this license to be assigned to doesn't show up when pressing "Search" from the assignment tab (it does show 2 other clusters, type DCC).
Is the host cluster you are missing covered by the same SIM connector that is bringing in the 2 clusters (DCC's) you can see? Also are the agents installed on the guest servers as well.
No, the cluster I'm looking for is covered by another SIM connector since this cluster is situated in another network I do not have access to. So the inventory agents are NOT installed on the guest servers. However Snow does find the host servers and shows hardware (processors/cores) info via List Computers. But I cannot even select other DCC clusters that are covered via the same SIM in the assignment tab while there are other clusters covered by the same SIM , these are listed in the Datacenter report.
Have you tried to enter the datacenter name as search criteria and (more important) activate "Ignore use rights" under "more options"?
Yes, first I tried to find the data center name as search criteria, but it was not found. Then I just pressed "Search". 14 "Names" were reported. 2 Of them are type "DCC", the others are type "Physical" or "Virtual". I had expected far more "Names" than the 14 reported. In what Snow form/menu can I activate "Ignore use rights" ?
I noticed that "Cross edition rights" was not marked in the SQL Server Enterprise license. After doing this pressing "Search" from the Assignment tab resulted in a list of more than 1000 names, also the cluster I was looking for was mentioned now !
