Got an error while select map drive (Z:
ewfolder) as Import root in Web Configurator
ewfolder) as Import root in Web Configurator
Hi There,
Customer has provided us a shared drive which is mapped in Z: . Now I am trying to change the Import Root path to the mapped drive (Z:\Newfolder) in Web Configurator.
Now when click on apply settings, error says "Source and Destination paths must have identical roots. Move will not work across volumes".
I understand this error. But is there any other way I can access the Network share drive from Web Configurator?
Thanks,
Mohamed Riswan
Having a Google of that error "Source and Destination paths must have identical roots. Move will not work across volumes" results in a few hits around the issue being related to Move function that the tool might be trying to use. Have you tried using the UNC path (e.g. \\servername\share) instead of a mapped drive to see if that makes any difference?
Alternatively you could script up a job to take files from the drop location and copy them to a local folder and the configure the Web Configurator to point to that instead. This should be relatively straightforward with PowerShell.

I tried to paste \\servername\share in Web Configurator but not able to do it. Could you please suggest how to proceed.
Apologies, didn't actually check to see whether the Web Configurator allowed to type a path but looks like it doesn't. Looks like you are going to have alter the drop mechanism so that the customer pushes the files to the configured Import root location (open a share to it) or create a copy job to get the data from your network location (Z:) to the local Import Root folder.
