Oracle Java licens compliance report
Hi
can anyone explain why it looks like below?
I think everyone should be license requied
Oracle Java Licens
Java SE 9.0 (JDK) Oracle
No license required
Java SE 9.0 (JDK) + (JMC) Oracle
Installations
Java SE 9.0 (JRE) Oracle
No license required
Take a look at this video - it may help explain
Java SE 8 Is No Longer Available Without A License - What Next? - YouTube
Hi
I have aleredy seen the video and thats why i am asking the question why slm show that Java SE 9.0 JDK and JRE as No licens requried.
I would say, Snow had to decide what to deliver as a default setting and it looks like for some reason they decided to deliver the default setting as "no license required".
If this does not meet customer's specific requirements, it is easy to change this.
You could also open a support case with the request to change the default settings. I guess this will not be the easiest modification for all customers, as this might influence compliance for a lot of customers.
Snow should default their value to reflect the true compliance information. My company is questionning me about Java compliance and I am unable to provide a valid statement using Snow.
