Mike777 asked a question.
I have the Adobe CC connector configured in my organisation and linked the majority of my user accounts to our Adobe console. SLM has identified a number of unused licences and licences with optimisation opportunities.
I surveyed my users on their CC application usage; a number have reported that they use CC apps on a daily basis.
SLM notes that optimisation is measured and calculated ‘through the number of instances where an Adobe Creative Cloud application, which is not managed via the primary Adobe Admin Console has been used. Each instance consist on a combination of a user and an application.’
How does SLM measure Adobe CC application usage and identify areas of non-usage and optimisation?
NB: my organisation deploys, and many users access, Adobe CC through the Adobe CC desktop package rather than directly through the web.
Hi Mike,
May I ask where this quote comes from "through the number of instances where an Adobe Creative Cloud application, which is not managed via the primary Adobe Admin Console has been used. Each instance consist on a combination of a user and an application"?
I guess the quote refers to a single report: "Unassigned licenses – Licenses that are not assigned to an Adobe Creative
Cloud user." see User Guide: Web User Interface Snow License Manager 9 (en) https://community.flexera.com/s/article/UserGuideWebUserInterfaceSnowLicenseManagerversion9en-us-v2
The User Guide partially describes how it works. See also Adobe Creative Cloud Insights and Link Users. In principle, the Adobe API is used to read out subscriptions, users and online usage. The use of desktop installations is measured via the Snow Inventory Agent. The combination of the data makes it possible to understand the actual use of the packages and to suggest optimisations.
