What is Snow ITSM Enhancer?
Can someone clarify as to what the 'Snow ITSM Enhancer' platform offering is? The datasheet is suitably vague.
Is this just the ability to export data held in SLM, via a SIM connector, into whatever CMDB a site is using, (in our case ServiceNow)?
In the new Systemrequirements documents there is a list of "Supporting Snow technologies" for the products. For "ITSM Enhancer" they list Snow Inventory 6, Snow License Manager 9 and Snow Integration Manager 5.
For ServiceNow it also describes "Integrating license availability into software requests".
So I would say: Yes, this is basically the ITSM Integration Connectors.
It's simply sales speak - with everything rebranded like Adoption Tracker, Spend optimizer etc. but basically each of these is made up of the technology stack that is INV/SLM/SIM.
It comes down to how you'll license the products and as currently Snow cannot match this licensing model in the tools themselves it's simply a "contractual model" i believe is the term the Sales teams use.
How this is policed, well that's anyone's guess - which from a SAM tools company you'd think would be simple to track...
If you are a Snow partner you can find it all in the documentation they've put on the partner portal. If not I'd suggest speaking to your account manager.
@Colin Hardie​ Hi Colin, thanks for your interest in ITSM Enhancer. As noted by some of the previous commenters, Snow did go through a product repackaging. As part of this we renamed Snow for ITSM as ITSM Enhancer.
Simply, it is the integrated connector between Snow License Manager and the list of supported ITSM tools (i.e. ServiceNow, BMC). In SLM you get the benefit of the discovery and inventory,(in new speak - Adoption Tracker), and normalization (Data Intelligence Service), which stand alone. If you want to ingest all that data in ServiceNow, mapped to the right areas of the CMDB that is interpretable and usable then you require the connector, ITSM Enhancer. This is how you can achieve automated, cleaned, and normalized software title data to populate your CMDB. It is a capability that even the ServiceNow team comes to Snow to deliver to their customers.

Is this something that we need to install separately and configure or just we have to purchase the License for ITSM enhancer and we proceede with the connector setup as this is shown as a mandatory component in ServiceNow store ?
