Auto attach computers
Dear, would it be possible to automatically attach the "Maintenance contract" type contract to a list of computers? Passing as parameter a certain model? Today we need to periodically check all computers that do not have an attached contract and do it manually. It would be of great help to be able to automatically refer a specific computer model to a specific contract. Today, computers that go for archiving lose that contract reference. Basically it would be a rule like: (If model X has no contract then attach it to contract Y)
SLM already allows you to do so ... although maybe not in the most practical way.
Maintenance Agreements and Hardware Warranty Agreements have an option to auto assign computers from selected Organization Nodes. If you have an Organization Node corresponding to the models you want to target, then this is a good as done.
If you cannot define your Organization tree including Computer Models, then the best option is probably to post an idea on the Ideas Board. Remember that when you do so, the idea goes through a review first for a few days before it appears on the portal 😉
I was thinking of something simpler. Select with parameters and update in contracts. =)
